Corline signs exclusive license and supply agreement with major US medical device manufacturer
Swedish company Corline Systems AB, a maker and distributor of CHS, a unique heparin coating technology for use on Medical Devices and for Regenerative Medicine, today announced that it has signed an agreement exclusively licensing its technology within a specified Field-of-Use to one of the major US medical device manufacturers. The agreement allows use of Corline’s CHS technology on a device for patients that undergo routine dialysis treatments.
The CHS coated product is planned for market launch during mid 2011 and the agreement includes customary but non-disclosed milestone payments, royalty fees and payments for Corline’s on-going supply of its proprietary coating reagents.
“This is a break-through deal for Corline and this will be the first product incorporating our CHS technology to be launched on the important US market”, comments CEO Henrik Nittmar.
End-stage renal disease, ESDR, is a severely debilitating disease that affects many people - 500,000 or more in the US alone according to NIH/NIDDK (2006). More than 350,000 of these patients undergo dialysis treatments and the yearly cost for the US ESDR program exceeds $33 bn.
The equipment and device market for this patient group is a very important part of the US overall medical device market and a number of the major US players are servicing it, and obviously a large number of technology providers and suppliers rely on it for revenues. Through this agreement, Corline will join that group.

These studies are a first step towards realizing the company’s vision of having its CHS platform technology widely used within the future Regenerative Medicine market. The CHS technology is protected by more than 20 granted and pending patents.
Corline is a privately held company, financially backed by members of the Crafoord family, primarily known for the development of Swedish medical device company Gambro (founded by Holger Crafoord), and Lars Sunnanväder, a well-known entrepreneur who has founded several medical device and biotechnology companies, e.g. heart/lung assist and coronary surgical device manufacturer Jostra, lung assist device manufacturer Novalung, Jotec, Jolife, Joline and other companies within this field.

Corline genomför nyemission

Corline genomför under fjärde kvartalet 2008 en riktad nyemission om cirka 20 MSEK. Kapitaltillskottet kommer bland annat användas för att finansiera kliniska studier och inleda produktförsäljning för Diabetes Typ 1 samt för att bredda bolagets verksamhet inom cell- och vävnadsterapi. Minsta enskilda investering för deltagande i emissionen är 600 000 SEK.
